Response:

1)
Claim: Harry does not like Cormac McLaggen.

Evidence: "He could not decide which one was more annoying. McLaggen kept up a constant stream of hints that he would make a better perment keeper thn Ron..." (Rowling 409) "... And keen to abuse McLaggen as much as possible." (Rowling 410) "So how's McLaggen shaping up?" "I've told you," said Harry patiently, "he could be world-class and I wouldn't want to keep him. He keeps trying to tell everyone what to do, he thinks he could play every position better than the rest of us. I can't wait to be shot of him." (Rowling 411)

Explanation: Harrydoes not like him because even though they have something in common McLaggen is too self centered and thinks that he knows more than anything. In the actual Quiddich game McLaggen was apparently trying to teach the beaters how to play and he ended up knocking Harry out when he hit a bludger at him too hard. Woke up in the hospital wing suffering from a broken skull.

2)

Claim: Slughorn does not want to give up the memory.

Evidence: "Because, I think he is ashamed of what he remembers," said Dumbledore. "He has tried to rework the memory to show himself in a better light, obliterating those parts he does not wish me to see." (Rowling 371)

Explanation: Professor Slughorn answered Tom Riddles question in a manner that he was not proud of and did not want him to see it for it might ruin his good reputation, get him fired, or even worse get him throwen in Azkaban. But in the end it is really not something that he should really be ashamed of because he did not give out too much information.
